I am interested in how experience affects behavior and the biology of the brain. “Experience” can mean many things, including exposure to stress, drugs, trauma, toxins, or illness. The research could be relevant to many types of neuropsychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, addiction, and autism. Experience-induced plasticity such as LTP in some certain circuits or changes of excitability of certain type of neurons could be the mechanism underling the changes of behavior. A key ingredient of the answer to this question is to identify the circuits or neurons. And we can reverse these plasticity by using optogenetics or pharmacogenetics to detect

whether the changes of behavior could also be reversed.
